About Dr. Jackson . . .

My Perspective

We all face challenges and tough times in life, and each of us has a unique combination of strengths and struggles. There are times when the usual ways of coping and achieving are just not working or are not enough–no matter how emotionally strong, well-equipped, and healthy you may consider yourself. Sometimes we are up against something for which we have no roadmap and no idea how to even start facing. Unfamiliar territory and/or an uncertain future can feel scary and overwhelming. Even when in familiar territory, change and persistence can be hard. We sometimes keep stalling out on change efforts and then bump up against the same problem time and time again. These are all times when therapy can help.

How I help

Most everyone can benefit from therapy at some point in their lives but asking for help can be hard to do. I commend you for seeking help and thank you for considering my services. I partner with my clients to help them set and reach goals, recognize their values and strengths, identify needs, learn and effectively use tools to reduce problems, and to succeed in change efforts to improve life functioning and satisfaction.

Education & Experience

I am a Licensed Health Service Psychologist who owns and operates Aim to Thrive. I have over 20 years of experience as a clinician and business owner, along with over 15 years of experience as a consulting psychologist. As a well-seasoned psychologist and lifelong learner, I am passionate about helping others grow and improve to become their best selves.

I leverage a unique combination of clinical and consulting expertise in my work with clients, utilizing an approach that is science-based, values- and strengths-driven, and growth-oriented. I partner with clients to: identify needs and values, set goals, uncover and leverage strengths, and build skills to achieve improved life functioning and satisfaction. My approach to therapy draws heavily from cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, person-centered therapy, and positive psychology. I have specialized training in treatment of ADHD, OCD, and non-medication-based treatment of insomnia.

After many years of operating a general practice, I chose to narrow the scope of my clinical work to focus exclusively on helping adults (ages 18 and older) address challenges faced with ADHD and anxiety. My clinical experience spans across client ages 6 to 65+; community, hospital, public, and private settings; includes evaluation, diagnosis, therapy and clinical consultation services; and treatment of a broad range of client issues (ADHD, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, mood disorders, trauma, insomnia, grief/loss and living with chronic medical conditions).

I also have extensive experience as a consulting psychologist in the areas of clinical consultation, programming consultation, and organizational/leadership development. My work as a consulting psychologist is ongoing and is currently focused on partnering with organizations and professionals to enhance leadership, set strategy, build high performing teams and develop healthy organizational cultures.

I live in Norman, Oklahoma, with my husband and two sons. I am passionate about connection – love, laughter, quality time, and having awesome experiences with my favorite people. I love to be active, travel, and spend time outdoors.
